Welcome back to the Stories from a Woman's Heart Podcast. I'm your host, Deanna Byrd, and I'm so happy to have you join us for our summer devotional series. These are short, sweet, and made to inspire. I hope you absolutely love them. I want to talk about divine opportunities. So, what is a divine opportunity? The definition is this: a God orchestrated, favorable moment that aligns with purpose, often appearing unexpectedly to offer advancement, spiritual growth, or a chance to serve. These moments require faith and discernment to recognize and to transform challenging circumstances into opportunities for God's power. You know, divine opportunities are always God orchestrated and God ordained. God creates purpose in each divine opportunity for each of us that we may walk into our own divine destiny and our divine purpose, or even a very specific one that is detailed just for us by God. When you think about a divine purpose or divine opportunity, it you know it may cause a feeling of intimidation or a feeling of, am I even equipped or qualified to complete or fulfill this divine moment? It definitely calls for our faith and trust in God, which can help us to grow in Him also. With these divine opportunities, we must use our discernment along with staying in the Word with prayer and fasting. These divine moments may look like common day-to-day ordinary situations, but when we are prepared spiritually and prayerfully, we will be able to detect those divine opportunities. So let's take a look at some biblical examples. We all know the story of Esther. She was given a divine opportunity to save the Jewish people, her people. She prepared through prayer and fasting, and then she became queen, and in the end her people were saved. She had divine favor and divine providence from God. Esther 414 says, For if you keep silent at this time, liberation and rescue will arise for the Jews from another place, and you and your father's house will perish, and who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this. Let's talk about Joseph. See what his divine opportunity was. He was given a divine opportunity to save Egypt and his own family from famine by interpreting Pharaoh's dream. His preparation came for being enslaved and imprisoned and in the pit. God elevated him from a prisoner to a prime minister or a governor. Genesis 5020 says, You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So how does God send us divine opportunities? One way is through adversity. And a prime example is one of our sweet podcast guests, Lacey Howard. Her moment of need and desperation for Cooper, God intervened and brought divine opportunities of amazing doctors and nurses to care for Cooper. Another way is through suddenlies when you least expect it and in God's divine timing. And through our faith and obedience, when we step out on faith, what may seem uncertain and foolish to others, God unlocks those opportunities and will always provide the means, he makes those provisions so that we will be able to fulfill each one through preparedness. Just as Esther prepared herself before the King, we need to be prepared through fasting, prayer, studying his word, and seeking his wisdom diligently. This will align our hearts and minds so that we will be able to recognize each divine opportunity when it comes our way. Another way is through service and purpose. When you help serve others on an outreach ministry or a missions organization in your church or even someone you know that may be in need, God will enable you to receive more opportunities out of line with his plan. A great example is our local shower up ministry. This ministry travels locally to give our homeless here a place to shower and refresh. This ministry also gives the homeless an opportunity to wash their clothes, receive a hot meal, and it has been one that has helped so many and even given them a little bit of their dignity back. And it all started with a divine opportunity. So Esther, for such a time as this, and Joseph, to the pit, to the prison, to the palace. Do you know what your divine opportunity is? Are you ready to walk in it and fulfill it? Are you ready to make a difference in the world around you and in the lives of others? Let's continue to focus and pursue our relationship with Christ so that we will know when our divine opportunities come, so that we will be able to walk in them, activate our faith, and see the difference we can make, and then we will fulfill his divine purpose for our lives.
